7 convicted for robbery and murder of former Sogakope Assembly Member

The Ho High Court has convicted seven individuals for the robbery and murder of Mawutor Adzahli. He was a former Assembly Member for Sogakope in the Volta Region.

Justice John Ekow Mensah delivered the judgement on May 22. Three accused, Richard Adikyere, Stephen Adzibolo, and Emmanuel Hedzro, were found guilty of robbery and murder.

Richard Adikyere received a life sentence. Stephen Adzibolo and Emmanuel Hedzro each got 47 years in prison.

Four other accused persons pleaded guilty during the trial. Samuel Kofi Zotorvi and Christian Zotorvi were sentenced to 15 years each.

Michael Sam and Obed Ayornu received 20-year sentences. The Public Affairs Unit of the Volta Regional Police confirmed they are at Ho Central Prisons.

The murder of Mr. Adzahli shocked the Sogakope community. It sparked widespread concern among residents. The court's decision is a significant step toward justice for him.
