The Dansoman Circuit Court has begun hearing the case of four Accra Academy students charged with conspiracy, assault, and threats of harm after a viral video showed them attacking junior students with a machete.
According to the prosecution, the incident occurred on January 17, 2025, when the victims were praying at the school’s park.
The accused allegedly forced them to kneel, seized a phone, and demanded GH¢500 for its return.
The victims were also compelled to contribute GH¢10 each.
One of the suspects reportedly struck a victim’s chest and used a machete in the attack, while another filmed the incident.
Three minors appeared in court and pleaded not guilty.
The case has been adjourned to March 4, 2025.
