Gyasi Robert Sekyere, unemployed, and Esther Akuamoah, sales personnel, have been charged with conspiracy and stealing GH₵344,960 from a shop at Dzorwulu. Both pleaded not guilty before an Accra Circuit Court presided over by Mr. Samuel Bright Acquah.
Each has been granted bail of GH₵400,000 with three sureties, one of which must be justified. The case is adjourned to January 28, 2025.
According to the prosecution, complainant Matilda Agyapong, a businesswoman, uncovered a GH₵194,000 discrepancy in June 2024 after auditing stock and sales records. A second audit by AA Adams Chartered Accountants revealed the theft had reached GH₵344,960 by October.
Both accused allegedly failed to account for the missing funds, prompting police involvement. Investigations are ongoing.
