A 35-year-old businessman, Daniel Koranteng, also known as Nana Amakye, has been remanded by the Madina District Court over allegations linking him to the 2019 murder of investigative journalist Ahmed Suale.

Prosecutors claim call records place him near Suale’s residence at the time of the killing. While denying selling Suale’s photos to MP Kennedy Agyapong, Koranteng admitted knowing the journalist and visiting Agyapong.

The prosecution alleges Suale had identified Koranteng as the source of the images later aired on Net2 TV.

Koranteng reportedly fled to the UK in 2019 but was arrested in Amasaman on March 15, 2025, upon his return.

The court has scheduled committal proceedings for April 1 as investigations continue.
