The Assin Fosu District Court, presided over by His Worship Abdul Majid Iliasu, has granted bail to 48-year-old Esi Affumwaa, an Akpeteshie seller and farmer, accused of assaulting a customer by allegedly biting his testicle.

Affumwaa was released on a GH¢10,000 bail with two sureties, one of whom must reside within the court’s jurisdiction.

According to Inspector Matilda Osaah Buaben, the prosecution’s lead, the incident occurred on February 26, 2024, at Assin Wurakese Camp.

The complainant, 36-year-old farmer Karim Osman, had visited Affumwaa’s residence to buy a cigarette when an argument over a GH¢2.40 debt escalated.

Affumwaa allegedly struck Osman with firewood before biting his testicle, causing serious injury. The police arrested her after Osman reported the assault.

In court, Affumwaa pleaded guilty with an explanation, claiming she acted in self-defense and denied biting his testicle, insisting she had only squeezed it during the altercation.
