IKSON PROPERTIES Agency Limited in Tema has filed a lawsuit against Mercy Agyei, a banker at Absa Bank Ghana, accusing her of embezzling GH¢75,000.

The suit, filed in Kumasi’s Circuit Court by the company’s CEO, Yawson Otoo, seeks the return of the money with interest, plus legal fees.

The company claims Agyei, who worked as an intern in 2019, was tasked with collecting GH¢75,000 from Electroland Ghana on November 2, 2023.

However, she allegedly failed to deposit the funds into the company’s account, despite providing a receipt.

Agyei denies the allegations, stating she only assisted with a GH¢70,000 collection and was no longer employed by the company at the time.

Otoo has petitioned the Attorney General over delays in the police investigation.
