Bekwai Circuit Court: Two ex-convicts jailed 34 years for robbery, rape and causing harm

In Bekwai, 20-year-old Akwasi Agyemang received a 25-year prison sentence for robbing and raping an 8-month pregnant teenager.

The crime, which occurred on August 25, 2024, led to Agyemang's arrest with the help of a local Assembly member. He has pleaded guilty to robbery and awaits trial for rape.

Meanwhile, 23-year-old Kwabena Ofori was sentenced to 9 years in prison for assaulting a driver over a personal dispute.

Ofori, already serving another sentence, admitted to the attack and will serve his new sentence concurrently.
