C/R: Husband butchers wife over alleged cheating at Bawjiase

The Kasoa Divisional Police Command has arrested 32-year-old Eric Adakanu for allegedly butchering his wife, Ayisha Mununi, at Awutu Bawjiase in the Central Region.

The suspect has been handed over to the Bawjiase District Police Command.

According to police sources, the incident occurred after Eric accused Ayisha of infidelity, which she denied.

A heated argument ensued, prompting Eric to retrieve a cutlass from his brother’s room and fatally attack Ayisha.

The couple, married for over a decade and parents to three children, had traveled from Accra to Bawjiase to celebrate Christmas with Eric’s elder brother.

Eric is currently in police custody, while Ayisha’s body has been deposited at the Police Hospital mortuary. Investigations are ongoing.
