An Accra High Court has postponed the murder trial involving self-proclaimed traditional ruler Ben Lord Ababio, alias Nana Barima, and Nana Kofi Amo Gyekye, alias Nana Fiifi, to December 18, 2024.
Justice Mrs. Kizita Naa Koowah Quarshie cited insufficient jurors as the reason for the adjournment, instructing the court registrar to assemble more jurors to commence the trial.
The accused face charges of conspiracy, with Ababio additionally charged with murder. He remains in custody, while Gyekye is out on GH¢1 million bail with strict conditions.
The case stems from an April 2024 incident where Lance Corporal Michael Danso was allegedly shot dead by Ababio at the Millennium City Police Station during a land dispute report.
Investigations led to Gyekye's arrest, while two accomplices remain at large.
