A court in Ghana granted bail to two individuals, Kwabena Osborn and Joseph Osei, who were accused of stealing electricity meters belonging to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG). The pair faced charges including conspiracy to commit crime and theft. The prosecution alleged that they unlawfully took ten electricity meters valued at approximately 20,000 Ghanaian cedis.
Despite the serious nature of the charges, the court set bail at 150,000 Ghanaian cedis with two sureties for each defendant. Their legal representatives argued for their release on bail, citing their commitment to appear in court for future proceedings and highlighting their lack of prior criminal records. The case has been adjourned until December 6, allowing time for further investigations into the allegations against them.
