Driver accused of escaping from police custody remanded

A 28-year-old driver, Razak Sulley, has been remanded by the Adentan Circuit Court. He is accused of escaping from the Madina Divisional Criminal Investigations Department (CID).

Sulley faces charges for escaping lawful custody. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.

In court, he claimed he had been in cells without food. He asked an investigator to use his GH¢35 for food. This money was allegedly taken at the police counter.

Sulley said he received a hefty slap during this incident. However, he expressed regret for his actions.
