Akwasi Opoku, also known as Indomie, has been sentenced to 21 years in hard labor by the Duayaw Nkwanta Circuit Court for multiple criminal offenses in the Ahafo Region.

Opoku pleaded guilty to stealing slippers, including 25 pairs of male slippers, 7 pairs of female sandals, and 2 pairs of children's sandals, totaling GHc4,480.

The court also convicted him of assault, illegal weapon possession, and threatening a life, sentencing him to an additional 13 years.

The charges stemmed from an incident on November 11, 2024, where Opoku attempted to kill a victim with a shotgun and cutlass.

The victim managed to escape, and Opoku was later arrested after fleeing the scene. He claimed to have been intoxicated at the time of the attack.
