The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has set a March 2025 deadline for the police to provide tangible updates on the unresolved murder of investigative journalist Ahmed Suale, warning it will seek redress at the ECOWAS Community Court of Justice if no progress is made.
Ahmed Suale was killed in 2019, but six years later, no arrests have been made.
GJA President Albert Kwabena Dwumfuor criticized the police for their lack of action and highlighted former Attorney-General Godfred Dame’s 2024 disclosure that no prosecutable docket had been submitted.
MP Kwame Asare-Obeng (A-Plus) recently claimed to have provided the police with leads but questioned their commitment.
The GJA plans press engagements and will involve international bodies to demand justice for Suale.
