Abiola Kayode, 37, a Nigerian on the FBI’s most-wanted list, has been extradited from Ghana to Nebraska, U.S., to face charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud.

Kayode is accused of participating in a business email compromise (BEC) scheme from 2015 to 2016, defrauding businesses of over $6 million.

The scheme involved spoofed emails impersonating company executives, directing employees to make fraudulent wire transfers to accounts controlled by Kayode and others.

Kayode had his initial court appearance on December 11, 2024, and remains detained pending trial.

Several co-conspirators have already been convicted, receiving sentences of up to 96 months and significant restitution orders.

The FBI continues efforts to dismantle cybercriminal groups targeting U.S. citizens, with international law enforcement support.
