Godfred Dame allegedly defrauded by radio presenter

The High Court in Accra has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of radio presenter Animwaa Anim-Addo, accused of defrauding Attorney-General Godfred Yeboah Dame.

Presided over by Justice Kizita Naa Koowa Quarshie, the court acted after Anim-Addo failed to appear for charges of fraud and making conflicting land grants.

Prosecutors allege that in 2021, Anim-Addo sought $50,000 from Mr. Dame, claiming it was for emergency spinal surgery in India.

She offered land in East Legon as collateral but later sold it to another buyer for $30,000.

Investigations revealed no medical trip occurred, and only $5,000 has been refunded.

The trial continues on January 21, 2025.
