J.B. Danquah case: Lawyers for ‘Sexy Don Don’ to apply for bail on March 25

Lawyers for Daniel Asiedu, the prime suspect in the 2016 murder of Abuakwa North MP J.B. Danquah-Adu, have announced plans to file a bail application on March 25.

Asiedu, also known as ‘Sexy Don Don,’ was acquitted by a jury in December 2024 but now faces a retrial after a court ruling. His legal team argues the acquittal should be legally clarified before a retrial proceeds.

They also plan to petition the Supreme Court to interpret the jury’s decision.

The case, which has dragged on for years due to conflicting testimonies and legal disputes, remains one of Ghana’s most closely watched murder trials.

The upcoming hearings could determine Asiedu’s fate.
