Judge orders retrial as jury finds ‘Sexy Don Don’ not guilty in JB Danquah’s murder

A seven-member jury has found Daniel Asiedu, alias Sexy Don Don, not guilty in the murder case of Abuakwa North MP Joseph Boakye Danquah Adu.

The 4-3 split decision, delivered on December 4, 2024, led the presiding judge to discharge the jury under Section 285(4) of the Criminal and Other Offenses (Procedure) Act, 1960 (Act 30).

The court ruled the verdict insufficient for further legal action. Asiedu, previously charged with robbery and murder, remains in custody despite the decision.

This ruling has drawn attention to the complexities of the case, which has been a high-profile legal battle since the MP’s tragic death.
