Kasoa: Off-duty officer nabs man trying to steal items from accident victims

A man has been arrested in Kasoa, Central Region, for attempting to steal items belonging to victims of a motorbike accident.

The incident occurred when a truck crashed into a motorbike, leaving the pillion rider feared dead.

After the crash, the suspect was caught trying to take the motorbike and a bag from the victims.

A police officer, who was off-duty and in civilian clothing, witnessed the attempted theft. After confronting the man, the officer identified himself and discovered the suspect had claimed to be a repairer behind Pink FM.

The suspect was arrested and handed over to a uniformed officer.

While being taken into custody, he insisted that he had no intention of stealing, but was trying to assist the accident victims by transporting them to a health facility.
