Koforidua Circuit Court grants bail to 14 illegal miners

The Koforidua Circuit Court B has granted bail to 14 alleged illegal miners.

The bail amount is GH¢350,000 with two sureties each.

One surety for each accused must be justified with movable property.

The accused have denied all charges against them.

The prosecution stated that the Eastern South Regional Police arrested them on May 15, 2025.

They were arrested for illegal mining at Akyem Muoso in the Eastern Region.

During the arrest, police found a pump-action gun with Zuberu Nuhoho.

He could not provide documentation for the weapon.

Additionally, two excavator control boards were recovered from the mining site.
