The Ashanti Regional Police Command has launched a manhunt for Martin Amoah, also known as Augustine Amoah, alias "Baba Macho," in connection with the robbery and killing of a mobile money vendor in Kumasi.
Described as a dangerous fugitive, Amoah is believed to be hiding in Kumasi, Dunkwa-on-Offin, Accra, or the Central Region.
Three suspects—Charles Kwame Danso (alias "Miami"), Philip Foujour, and Samuel Audae Mensah—have already been arrested in connection with recent robberies that claimed the lives of two MoMo vendors in the region.
The first incident occurred on February 13, 2025, when Patricia Nimako was attacked and killed in front of her shop at Krofrom. The second took place on March 10, when Gideon Owusu Sarpong was robbed and murdered at his residence in Kwadaso.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe has urged the public to provide any information on Amoah’s whereabouts via the toll-free numbers 191 or 112.
The police assure residents that security measures, including increased visibility and crackdowns on unregistered motorbikes, are being implemented to curb the rising attacks on MoMo vendors.
