The High Court will decide on March 4, 2025, whether Kwabena Adu Gyamfi, also known as Victor Kusi Boateng, must testify in his defamation case against MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
Boateng, who sued Ablakwa, had closed his case after calling two witnesses.
However, Ablakwa’s lawyers subpoenaed him to testify, a move his legal team strongly opposed, citing self-incrimination risks.
Despite objections, the court compelled his first-ever in-person appearance in his cases against Ablakwa.
The defence argues that all witnesses can be compelled when necessary for justice.
The upcoming ruling will determine whether Boateng must take the stand in the lawsuit he filed.
