The state has officially dropped all charges against former NDC National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, and Communications Officer, Anthony Kwaku Boahen. Attorney-General Dominic Ayine announced the decision, ending legal proceedings that began in December 2019.
The two NDC officials had been on trial following the release of a leaked audio, allegedly featuring Ofosu Ampofo plotting to incite unrest and blame the ruling NPP.
The audio reportedly outlined plans for kidnappings, arson, and verbal attacks on key figures like National Peace Council Chair Prof. Emmanuel Asante and Electoral Commission Chair Jean Mensa.
All charges, including conspiracy to harm and assault a public officer, have been dropped. Both men had denied the accusations, and the case has now been concluded.
