Man arrested in Western Region for illegal firearm possession  

A young man is helping police with an investigation. He was found with a locally made firearm and ammunition.

The Western Central Regional Police Command issued a statement. Yahaya Seidu was arrested on May 29, 2025. This happened at Aponteng Krom in the Western Region for unlawful possession of a firearm.

The statement noted that Seidu had a locally manufactured pistol. When questioned, he could not explain why he had it.

Police recovered the pistol and two live cartridges from him during the arrest.

Seidu is expected to face charges and appear in court after investigations are complete.
