Man kills wife and stepdaughter, inflicts cutlass wounds on another at Agona

Police in the Central Region are searching for 40-year-old Stephen Alatey, accused of killing his wife and stepdaughter and attacking a hunter who attempted to rescue his two surviving children.

The incident occurred in Aha-nso-wode, near Agona Bobikuma, amidst ongoing marital issues.

Alatey reportedly convinced his family to relocate to Adeiso in the Eastern Region but launched a brutal attack en route, killing his wife and stepdaughter.

A hunter responding to the children’s cries for help was severely injured by the suspect, who fled the scene. The hunter is receiving treatment at Agona Swedru Municipal Hospital, while the children are under police protection.

Authorities urge anyone with information on Alatey’s whereabouts to contact them as investigations continue.
