Masked robbers attack cocoa clerk, steal GH¢ 100,000 cash and electronics

Lucas Osei, a 41-year-old cocoa purchasing clerk, is in critical condition after a violent robbery at his Assin Fosu home.

Four masked assailants armed with machetes and scissors attacked Osei around 2 a.m., stealing GH¢100,000, two laptops, and two mobile phones.

Neighbors, alerted by his screams, found him in a pool of blood.

Police, led by Superintendent Kwabena Darkoh, recovered the weapons used but the suspects had fled. Central North Regional Commander DCOP Emmanuel Teye Cudjoe visited Osei in the hospital.

The incident underscores the need for enhanced security for those handling large sums of money.
