Isaac Amo, a 44-year-old mechanic, has been granted bail by the Dansoman Circuit Court for allegedly indecently assaulting a nine-year-old girl between 2009 and 2012.
Amo pleaded not guilty to the charges, which were read and explained to him in Twi.
His counsel invoked the presumption of innocence until proven guilty, citing Article 19(2)(c) of the 1992 Constitution.
The court granted bail in the sum of GH¢30,000 with three sureties, two of whom must be public servants living within the court's jurisdiction.
The prosecution did not oppose the bail application.
The alleged victim, now 23, reported experiencing depression and suicidal thoughts, attributing them to the abuse.
The matter has been adjourned pending further proceedings.
