The Central North Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects. They are connected to the killing of 34-year-old Tahiru Zenabu. She was found dead in her room at Kokoase, a suburb of Twifo Praso.
The breakthrough came when one suspect used the victim’s mobile phone. This critical mistake helped police track them down.
Zenabu was discovered on April 3. A cloth was tied around her neck, and there were blood stains on her hands. This suggested a struggle before her death.
After a month-long investigation, police made progress on May 5. Richard Armah, a mobile phone repairer from Twifo Aboabo, used Zenabu's phone to contact a friend. The friend recognized the number and alerted authorities immediately.
Police acted quickly and arrested Armah. During questioning, he named Isaac Arhin as his accomplice. Arhin was also arrested shortly after.
The victim’s mobile phone has been recovered and is now in police custody. It is part of the ongoing investigation.
Both suspects appeared in court on May 7 and were remanded into police custody. They are expected to return to court on May 21.
The police praised the community for its cooperation. They also commended the quick action of the victim’s friend for helping identify and apprehend the suspects.
