Three children, aged 4, 10, and 16, were caught on CCTV stealing GHC 35,000 from a Takoradi supermarket.
After their arrest, they confessed to handing the stolen money to their mother, a trader.
The mother returned GHC 31,000 but could not account for the remaining GHC 4,000. According to the supermarket manager, the returned money has been handed to the police, and they await the full amount.
The children, in school uniforms, pretended to buy ice cream but looted the cash when a cashier stepped away.
The 16-year-old was traced to her school through a crest on her uniform.
The police are investigating the incident as efforts continue to recover the missing funds.
