The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has arrested a long-time drug trafficking suspect, Uchechukwu Chima, in a major intelligence-led operation at Oyarifa, Accra.
The 56-year-old Nigerian national was apprehended on March 18, with authorities seizing 192kg of cocaine and 0.42kg of heroin from his hideout.
The narcotics, valued at $2.1 million, were confirmed through field tests.
Chima, who has been on NACOC’s watchlist, is suspected of orchestrating several past drug operations.
His arrest marks a significant breakthrough in Ghana’s crackdown on drug cartels.
NACOC has reiterated its commitment to dismantling drug networks and ensuring public safety.
The suspect remains in custody as investigations continue.
