NFA moves to check copyright infringements by radio, TV stations

The National Film Authority (NFA) is taking action against unauthorized broadcasts. They are working with security agencies to investigate radio and TV stations.

This decision comes amid rising concerns about copyright violations. Many TV stations in Ghana are reportedly infringing on copyrights. The NFA warns this threatens the country's creative ecosystem.

Kafui Danku Pitcher, the Acting Executive Secretary, signed a statement on this issue. It was shared with the Ghanaian Times. The NFA expressed deep concern over unauthorized content use.

They highlighted that illegal airing of films and series harms creators' rights. This practice discourages investment in the creative sector. The NFA reminded broadcasters of the Copyright Act, 2005 (Act 690). This law provides clear rules for using protected content.
