The Amasaman Circuit Court has granted a GH¢50,000 bail with two sureties to 21-year-old Okada rider Hope Nunekpeku, charged with attempted robbery and preparation to commit a crime.

Nunekpeku pleaded not guilty and is set to reappear on January 6, 2025, while his alleged accomplice, identified only as Dickson, remains at large.

The incident occurred on December 4, 2023, when the complainant, a driver, noticed suspicious behavior from two men on a motorbike near his parked vehicle in Shikpontele.

Nunekpeku, reportedly armed with a machete, fled the scene but was later arrested by police patrols.

During interrogation, Nunekpeku identified Dickson as his accomplice but failed to provide his whereabouts.

Investigations led to the current charges against him.
