A 48-year-old pastor has been remanded in police custody. The Asante Akropong Circuit Court is located in the Atwima Nwabiagya North District of the Ashanti region. He is accused of publishing falsehoods about Prophet Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah, founder of the Philadelphia Church.
Emmanuel Boachie pleaded not guilty to charges of publishing false news and offensive conduct. He will return to court on April 30, 2025. The court is presided over by Mrs. Gloria Mensah Bonsu.
Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mr. Albert Asagre presented the case facts. Prophet Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah is the complainant in this matter. Boachie is also a pastor at Souls Pasture Church and leads Awesome Bible College in Achiase.
On April 13, 2025, Boachie published a video on WhatsApp, TikTok, and Facebook. In it, he made serious allegations against the complainant. He called him a false prophet, thief, robber, murderer, anti-Christ, and nuisance to Christianity.
Boachie claimed that the complainant's teachings contradicted the Holy Bible and Jesus Christ's doctrines. The video went viral on social media and caught the complainant's attention. He reported it to Kumasi Tafo Police, leading to Boachie's arrest.
During preliminary investigations, Boachie admitted to making these publications. Consequently, he was charged and brought before the court as investigations continue.
