A Police Constable with the National Patrol Department, Alonsi Elizabeth, has been arrested for dousing her colleague, Constable Irene Dapaah, with boiling water, causing severe burns.
The incident occurred at Anyaa near Ablekuma in the Greater Accra Region, where both officers reside.
Reports indicate that the attack stemmed from a heated argument over household chores, specifically whose turn it was to sweep. In a fit of rage, the suspect poured boiling water on the victim, leaving her with serious injuries.
Constable Dapaah is currently receiving treatment at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, while Alonsi Elizabeth is in police custody, assisting with investigations.
Meanwhile, some colleagues, speaking anonymously, suspect the accused officer may have underlying mental health issues. They claim she has a history of erratic behavior and frequent disputes with others, often talking to herself and displaying unusual conduct.
