Over 500 farmers at Weija Irrigation Farms have made a plea. They are asking President John Dramani Mahama for help. Their farm lands are being seized by land guards.
The farmers fear losing their livelihoods. They say land guards are erecting pillars on their 440 acres of land. This ongoing activity threatens their source of income.
Mr. Agbo Tei Unusah, also known as Nene Wayo, spoke for the farmers. He is the Head of Security at Weija Irrigation Farms. In an interview with The Ghanaian Times, he shared their concerns.
The farmers filed a complaint with the Weija Divisional Police Command. They reported the situation on Friday but were told to return on Monday.
