Probe into policeman drowning, SDA SHS shooting begin

The Ghana Police Service is investigating the death of General Constable John Kwabena Dogbey. He drowned in the Offin River at Assin Domeabra in the Central Region.

General Constable Dogbey was part of the Central North Regional Police Anti-Galamsey Taskforce. He accidentally fell into the river while dismantling a Chanfan machine used by illegal miners.

A press release from Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Francis Onyina provided details. It stated that divers helped find the constable after hours of rescue efforts.

The police reported that his body was taken to Saint Francis Xavier Hospital in Assin Fosu. The medical officer on duty pronounced General Constable Dogbey dead there.
