The High Court in Accra, presided over by Justice Henry Anthony Kwofie, has ordered former SSNIT Director General Ernest Thompson and three others to defend charges related to the $66 million Operational Business Suite (OBS) project.

Thompson, former IT Manager John Hagan Mensah, and SSNIT lawyer Peter Hayibor face two counts of conspiracy and willfully causing financial loss.

Caleb Kwaku Afaglo, ex-Head of MIS at SSNIT, must answer to seven counts, including defrauding by false pretense and forgery-related offenses.

The court acquitted Perfect Business Systems CEO Juliet Hassana Kramer, citing insufficient evidence. Thompson and Kramer were also cleared of violating the Public Procurement Act on several counts.

Despite dismissing most charges, the court found a prima facie case for specific counts, with Thompson set to open his defense on December 19, 2024.
