'She poured acid on me after I slept with her' - 25-year-old man shares trauma

A 25-year-old man named Derrick has shared a shocking story. A lady friend attacked him with acid in an act of revenge.

Derrick spoke about his experience in an interview with ZionFelix. He explained how his relationship with Edwina turned dark.

In 2021, they planned to meet on their shared birthday. Edwina arrived late, citing transportation issues as the reason.

“I told her to come early so she could leave early,” he said. “I didn’t want her to spend the night because of my neighbors and boss.”

On that day, Edwina did not contact him until later. She called from a different number and said she had arrived. Derrick was surprised but went to pick her up.

He wanted her to return home that same day, but they struggled to find a vehicle back to Accra. Eventually, he let her stay overnight to avoid late travel.

During her stay, Derrick noticed some red flags. “She used my phone while I worked on my laptop,” he recalled. They ended up having sex after she got closer.

Later that night, she was texting on her phone. Derrick asked who she was messaging so late at night. She claimed it was a male friend going through heartbreak.

Curious, Derrick checked her phone while she slept. He found explicit chats with multiple men asking for nude photos and secret meetings.

When Edwina woke up around 3 am, she saw he had gone through her phone. This led to a heated argument between them.

She refused to leave at the agreed time the next morning. After much convincing from his friend, they finally got her to leave around 11 am.

Derrick quickly blocked Edwina on all platforms after that incident. Despite this, she continued trying to reach him from different numbers.

“She even had others call me for her,” he said. “But I cut those calls when I realized their purpose.”

Two weeks later, Derrick returned home from work and found Edwina outside his door unannounced. Ignoring her completely, he did not let her in that day.

The situation escalated in December 2021 when Derrick prepared to return to Accra after finishing a work project. He spent the night at a friend's place before leaving the next day.

Around 3 am, he woke up and went back to his room for final items before leaving. He hadn’t locked the door since there wasn’t much inside.

Unbeknownst to him, Edwina was lying in wait outside his room. As soon as he opened the door, she splashed acid on his face.

The corrosive substance severely burned one side of his face and blinded him in one eye instantly. Now desperate for medical help, Derrick seeks public assistance for reconstructive surgery costing GH₵23,000 in India.

The whereabouts of Edwina remain unknown following this incident.
