Swedru police impounds alleged missing ECG cables

The Agona Swedru Police have seized a truck loaded with suspected missing ECG cables. This incident occurred at Awombrew in the Gomoa Central District.

Two suspects have been arrested. They are Mohamed Suleman, the driver, and Abdul Basit, his mate. Both are assisting the police with their investigation.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Vida Yankey spoke to reporters in Swedru. She said they impounded the vehicle after receiving a tip from local residents.

The driver and his mate claimed they were delivering the cargo to Alhaji in Suhum, Eastern Region.

Residents became suspicious when the truck broke down while carrying the suspected cables. These cables reportedly went missing from Tema Port.

ASP Yankey stated that police quickly sent an officer and some men to the scene. The two suspects were arrested during this operation.

She added that both suspects will soon appear in court. Investigations continue to uncover more details about the missing cables.
