Trader arrested for possessing dangerous drugs and firearm

Police have seized five sacks of dangerous drugs in Accra. The drugs include high-dose 'red' tramadol, Volume 10, and other illegal substances. They also found a pump-action shotgun.

The suspect is Abdul Amidu Mohammed, a 30-year-old trader. He is on trial for unlawful possession of arms and illegal drugs.

Regional Police Commander DCOP Duuti Tuaruku spoke to the media on May 26. He said the arrest was made possible by intelligence from the Accra Regional Intelligence Team.

“The suspect has been taken to court,” DCOP Tuaruku stated. He faces charges for possessing illicit drugs and an unlicensed firearm.

The commander highlighted the need for community cooperation in fighting drugs and arms. He urged the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
