Trader gets 12 years for defiling 10-year-old girl - Ghanaian Times

A trader has been sentenced to 12 years in prison. He defiled a 10-year-old girl. The Gender Based Violence Court in Accra issued the sentence.

Daniel Opoku Larbi, 46, faced charges of defilement. He pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Judge Dora Eshun presided over the case. She ordered Larbi to pay GH¢5,400 as compensation to the victim. He must also cover her medical bills when they are available.

The prosecution was led by Chief Inspector Opoku Aniagyei. They informed the court about the complainant's background. The complainant is a 33-year-old hairdresser apprentice from Abeka, Accra.
