The Twifo Praso Police are actively searching for two girls, aged eight and 15, who allegedly stole GH¢41,000 and gold from a gold buyer’s shop in Twifo Praso, Central Region, on Wednesday.
The girls, who are not from the area, had asked the shop owner, Enoch Boateng, for assistance in buying gold.
While Boateng was momentarily distracted, the girls seized the opportunity to steal the money and gold before fleeing.
The theft was discovered several hours later.
Boateng expressed his distress, explaining that all his capital had been taken, and appealed for the girls' swift apprehension.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident, though the motive for the theft remains unclear.
