A Circuit Court in Asante Akropong has sentenced two men, Charles Antwi, 49, and Francis Abobi, 41, to 10 years in prison each for burglary, illegal firearm possession, and conspiracy.
The duo, arrested at their hideout in Effiduase-Asamang, had broken into the Sokoban residence of teacher Ama Boakyewaa Asomani, stealing valuables, including a television and smartphone.
Police investigations uncovered firearms, burglary tools, and stolen items in their possession.
The two pleaded guilty and were convicted by the court, presided over by Mrs. Gloria Mensah Bonsu.
Their arrest followed a report to the Ashanti Regional Police Intelligence Directorate, leading to swift action.
The sentencing serves as a warning against rising burglary cases in Kumasi.
