Walewale Bus Attack: Death toll rises to seven as more victims succumb

The death toll from the tragic bus attack at Walewale has risen to seven after four more victims died from gunshot wounds and burns.

The victims include one Burkinabe and three Togolese nationals, who were among the passengers attacked by unidentified gunmen on Friday, February 14.

The bus, which had broken down near Loagri under police supervision, was ambushed while the driver was away seeking a mechanic.

The assailants opened fire, injuring multiple people before setting the vehicle ablaze.

Initially, three people, including a toddler, were burned to death.

Two more injured victims died at the Tamale Teaching Hospital on Sunday, February 16, bringing the total fatalities to seven. Authorities are investigating the attack.
