A 38-year-old manager has been sentenced to five years in prison. The Asante Abuakwa circuit court found him guilty of stealing GH¢221,937.75 from a lotto company.
Akua Darkoah Asamoah pleaded guilty to the theft charge. He was convicted based on his own admission.
Police Detective Inspector Alexander Agbekpornu presented the case. The complainant is the General Manager of FOE Lotto Limited. This company is a subsidiary of Lotto and Lotteries in Santasi, Kumasi.
The convict was the branch manager for Atwima-Techiman. The prosecution revealed that from March 22 to June 2, 2024, he stole part of the lotto sales. The total amount stolen was GH¢221,937.75.
