Despite Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s loss in the December 7 presidential election, his political future remains promising, says Prof. David Millar, a former Vice Chancellor of the University for Development Studies (UDS).
Prof. Millar dismissed claims of dishonesty against Dr. Bawumia, affirming, “He does not lie. He speaks based on facts.”
He attributed the Vice President's defeat to dissatisfaction with the Akufo-Addo administration’s performance rather than Bawumia’s personal shortcomings.
Millar noted perceptions of Bawumia being sidelined in decision-making during the administration's second term, which affected his voter connection.
However, he expressed confidence in Bawumia’s ability to recover and rebuild his political momentum.
“His political future is bright. He has the capacity to bounce back stronger,” Millar concluded.
