Intruder arrested in Windsor Castle grounds

An intruder was arrested at Windsor Castle.

Thames Valley Police reported the incident occurred just after 1:00 PM BST on Sunday.

The man allegedly entered restricted grounds at the royal residence.

Metropolitan Police officers quickly challenged him. He did not enter the inner grounds of the castle.

The suspect, in his 30s, faces charges of trespass and drug possession.

Thames Valley Police confirmed he has been bailed while an investigation continues.

A spokesperson stated that a man entered restricted grounds around 1 PM on Sunday.

He was promptly challenged by police and arrested on-site.

Trespassing on a protected site is a criminal offense under the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act.
