Joy News reports that the National Investigations Bureau (NIB) has visited the home of Rev. Ntim Fordjour. He is the Assin South MP and Ranking Member on Parliament's Interior and Defence Committee. They are there to execute an arrest warrant.
Justin Kodua Frimpong, General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), confirmed this on Facebook. He stated that NIB officials are at Rev. Fordjour's residence to arrest him.
Henry Nana Boakye, NPP's National Organiser, also posted about this on Facebook the same day.
Rev. Fordjour recently alleged that two aircraft involved in money laundering and drug trafficking landed in Ghana. He urged the government to investigate these claims and inform the public.
In response, government spokesperson Felix Kwakye-Ofosu denied these allegations. He called Rev. Fordjour's comments false and explained that the aircraft had minor technical issues.
This situation has increased political tension between the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the opposition NPP. Some security analysts and political figures are calling for Rev. Fordjour's arrest for further questioning.
