'They can't gag us'- Ntim Fordjour over failed arrest as he thanks Bawumia for support

Assin South MP Rev. John Ntim Fordjour thanked former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. He appreciated Bawumia's support after an incident he called harassment.

On April 9, operatives from the National Investigations Bureau reportedly visited his home. Fordjour claims this was an attempt to intimidate him.

He expressed gratitude on X (formerly Twitter). He wrote, “Thank you very much HE Dr Mahamudu Bawumia @MBawumia for the visit to my residence this evening following the politically-motivated lawless act of harassment in the attempt of the NDC government to gag MPs from exercising their legitimate oversight.”

Members of the minority New Patriotic Party (NPP) intervened during the operation. They helped prevent what they saw as a raid.

Fordjour accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government of targeting opposition lawmakers. He believes this is an effort to suppress their oversight duties.

His comments reflect growing concerns about political intimidation before upcoming elections.
