The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, has shared important news.
He revealed that 40 missing Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) containers have been found. They were traced to a warehouse owned by an Indian national in Kpone, near Tema.
Mr. Jinapor made this announcement during an interview with TV3 on Wednesday, March 26. He praised national security and law enforcement for their efforts in locating the containers.
“The key issue is where these containers are,” he said. “About 40 have been traced to a warehouse in Kpone owned by an Indian national. All 40 containers have been confiscated and moved to a secure location.”
The warehouse owner claimed he bought the containers last year. However, Mr. Jinapor emphasized that the investigation is ongoing. Law enforcement will ensure justice is served.
“This matter is under investigation,” he stated. “Law enforcement agencies will make sure the law takes its course.”
Mr. Jinapor also mentioned that intelligence reports indicate more missing containers exist elsewhere. He assured the public that security agencies are actively pursuing leads.
“They have identified other locations,” he said. “They are following up to recover all the containers and prosecute those responsible.”
