Ghanaian musician Black Sherif shared his thoughts on his career path. He said he might have become a spare parts dealer or street vendor if not for music.
He revealed this during an interview on The Afro Select Show.
“If I wasn’t doing music, I would be hustling in Accra,” he explained. He mentioned that he could also be selling his father's tyres in Konongo.
Black Sherif talked about his family's trade. His father sells spare engines and parts as part of their family business.
Reflecting on high school, Black Sherif admitted he often skipped classes. He preferred to enjoy the vibrant Kumasi music scene instead.
“I used to sneak out to go dancing or gambling at tech,” he recalled, referring to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
These experiences may have helped shape his artistic development. They exposed him to diverse social interactions and creative influences.
Currently, Black Sherif is on a European tour. He is promoting his new album, Iron Boy, released on April 3, 2025.
This project marks another milestone in his rising career. It further establishes him as one of Ghana’s top musical talents.
